Steven C Kim, MD, FACS
Principal Investigator
Steven is a liver transplant surgeon with extensive experience in translational immunology research utilizing preclinical models of organ transplantation. His research interests include immune tolerance and the adaptive immune response in allotransplantation and xenotransplantation for both kidney and liver models.
Denise J Lo, MD, MPH, FACS
Co-Investigator
Denise is a transplant surgeon with extensive experience in adult and pediatric liver transplantation. She additionally has significant research experience with preclinical models and translational of novel adjuvant therapies.
Jay specializes in large dataset analyses and comprehensive molecular approaches including bulk and single cell RNA sequencing, proteomics, and spatial transcriptomics. He also has previous extensive research laboratory experience with a range of advanced techniques including flow cytometry, spectrometry, and organoid development.
Jay Han, PhD
Associate Scientist
Lizheng has excellent technical experience in the laboratory and is instrumental in preparing medications and infusions, preparing and processing samples, and executing experiments. He is also responsible for maintaining the standard operating procedures for the laboratory.

Alice is a PGY3 general surgery resident conducting two years of research in the SKim Laboratory.

Brantley is an MD/PhD candidate at the Emory University School of Medicine who has joined the laboratory for his PhD thesis project. He is co-mentored by Dr. Steven Kim and Dr. Mandy Ford, a close collaborator whose pioneering work in transplant immunology closely aligns with Dr. Kim’s translational studies.
